Studio Visit from SOVA Students

Students from the Yukon School of Visual Arts came around for a studio visit on Wednesday. Program director Aubyn O’Grady brought them around as part of a larger tour around town dropping in on other creative types who live and work in Dawson City.

It’s enjoyable but a bit jarring to host visits like this because it brings into focus the decades I’ve actually spent functioning in this space. Forty years, to be precise. It’s wild to realize that the folks I’m hosting are perhaps half that age. It brings to mind my attitude towards older people when I was in my early twenties, I literally could not wrap my head around attaining the age of thirty! And here I am, rocking seventy five!

Anyhow, it was a pleasure to do a little show and tell for these guys. I wish them well!
