Description
As Bush’s chief political strategist it was Karl Rove’s task to move the opinion poll numbers in favour of invading Iraq. His devious methods included perpetuating misinformation about the nuclear capabilities of Iraq, advancing the so called yellowcake research question and that scary mushroom cloud quote – “We don’t want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud”.
This had the effect of pinning down the Democrats on the Iraq question just before the elections in such a way that they’d be committing political suicide to go against the proposed invasion.
He was a devious political strategist extremely adept at manipulating others towards a self serving outcome, apparently without morals or a conscience. I guess you’d have to be a bit of a psycho to do this kind of work.
