DESCRIPTION: When I began living in Dawson my house was a small gold rush era log cabin in the north end of town. My neighbours were always helpful, supplying the “Cheechako” with things I might need for a better Yukon experience. One day someone brought over some discarded kitchen cabinets which I didn’t really need but seized on the plywood doors as a printmaking resource. This is portrait of a friend’s cat that I did as a black line woodcut on a discarded kitchen cabinet door.
