Ornament

Paul Nash (one of my favorites) was a British wood engraver who took an unconventional approach to the medium. His subject matter was often expressionistic and abstract. To understand him better and try to crawl into his head I interpreted his engraving called ‘Ornament’ (1923) as a linocut print. There are a few others of his I’d like to practice on.

MEDIUM: Linocut
EDITION SIZE: Open
IMAGE SIZE: 5.5 x 6.5 inches
PAPER SIZE: 8 x 11 inches
PAPER: Hand made Japanese Goyu
OTHER MARKS: Signed, titled in pencil

Deckle edge not exactly as shown.
