Box of Box

As a happy consequence of a major reorganization of my woodworking shop I’ve collected all my boxwood scraps into one Rubbermaid container. They are not really cast-offs – naturally – but very useful to the block-maker. In fact, these bits could be looked upon as a kind of block-maker’s porn; very exciting stuff!

I’ll be using these bits and rounds to make some nice wood-engraving blocks. Once a desired dimension is arrived at I will slice off thin sections like a loaf of bread and then glue those slices onto a solid substrate like Baltic Birch plywood or some hardwood.

This winter will hopefully be a big wood-engraving winter for me since I’ve not done much of late.
